For my Katakana Project, I decided to write haikus, which are poems with three lines. The first and third lines have 5 syllables and the second line has 7 syllables. The first haiku I wrote is about Doraemon, a manga that I watched as a child, the second haiku is about coffee, which I drink every morning, and the third haiku is about Christmas, my favorite holiday. I hope you enjoy them!

ロボットのねこ
ゆうしゃです。
コーヒーは
けさのみました
にがいです。
クリスマス
はすきなときで
しあわせよ。

The first haiku is great as it's reminiscent of the listener's childhood, if they've seen doraemon.
I also enjoyed the second one as it is simple and provides the reader with a bit of paradox to think about. Also the katakana emphasizes the subject visually as it is contrasted among the hiragana.

ReplyDeleteI also thought it was interesting how all the first and last haiku are reminiscent while the second is a current source of comfort, so all three make you feel good
